I choose to talk about ENDA because I like dancing and I think that this event is the most important for dancers in São Paulo. Actually in its twenty sixth edition, the National Meeting of Dance, or simply ENDA, is a traditional event made by the Union of the Professionals of Dance of the State of São Paulo (SINDDANÇA). ENDA is an event that happens every year and usually happens during a period of four days when it has a presentation that just dancers can participate. This show is a dance competition and the dancers are divided in three categories: fan, half-professional and professional.
To participate of the competition it has some rules to be respected. For example, if some dancer leave his dressing-room being used his cast, not only he, but all his group will be declassified of the competition.
Each year the dancers are more qualified and the groups presents them performances in a way more creative and with more emotion. As this show aims the quality of the choreography so it’s not allowed to use scenes and only can be used a type of illumination. These rules exist to put in evidence the quality of the presented choreography.
In the end of shows it doesn’t only have three groups which are classified (1st, 2nd, 3rd places). A ponctuation edge is established: of greats 9.1 to 10, are said as first places; of greats 8.1 to 9,0, are said as second places and the third places go for greats of 7,1 to 8,0. The groups classified in first or second places will participate of the event called ”Grande Gala ENDA”.
This year the National Meeting of Dance probably will happen at the Theater Sergio Cardoso during the period of day 2 to day 6 of July.
